Profile
The name Whistlejacket was adopted after the famous 18th century painting by George Stubbs. Contrary to the style of the period, it is painted on a simple background rather than the traditional countryside landscape. Stubbs surely intended the viewer to be struck by the magnificent power and beauty of the horse.
The uniqueness of the Whistlejacket painting with its deep appreciation for the horse appeared to capture the essence of our practice approach and seemed to be the perfect choice for a name. We commissioned a study of the painting to use as our logo and as a tribute to Stubbs. A unique painting for a unique practice!
We believe that our practice is indeed unique. Our aim is to provide an unrivalled professional service to our clients, as in our experience most client dissatisfaction is not directed at the treating veterinarian, but towards the overall service and attitude of the practice as a whole. With its motto A Modern Professional Team Approach, Whistlejacket aims to break through the traditional rivalries between vets and other professionals within the horse industry. We intend to provide the best treatment for your horse and as such, welcome working together with farriers, physiotherapists, dentists and trainers. These affiliations can only broaden the scope of treatment for animals under our care.
With close medical and veterinary contacts within the UK, the United States, Italy and Germany, we are constantly reviewing new ideas and therapies from around the world for implementation into our practice, and we intend constantly to evaluate, amend and expand our services and capabilities.
