Whistlejacket Equine Surgery operates a BEVA (British Equine Veterinary Association) approved reproductive service.
We not only have the facilities to artificially inseminate mares using fresh or chilled semen, but we also routinely use frozen semen with great success. Other services include:
Pre-breeding screening:
Complete examination, including ultrasonography of the entire reproductive system. Taking Endometrial swabs and/or biopsies if warranted. Swabs for Contagious Equine Metritis (CEM). Blood Sample for Equine Viral Arteritis (EVA) and Equine Infectious Anaemia (Coggins)
Foaling Service
Semen Storage Facilities
Stallion Fertility Assessment - including swabs for Contagious Equine metritis (CEM and blood samples for Equine Viral Arteritis (EFA) and (Coggins)
